Idaeon Project presents its new compositions for the first time, where the music of Crete and the wider Eastern Mediterranean breathes through… prog rock, stoner, metal, funk and improvisation!

Drawing on original compositions and musical storytelling, the ensemble continues to explore the boundaries between tradition and electrification, creating a sonic landscape that combines ritual intensity, polyrhythms and explosive energy on stage.

With this new project, the ensemble further expands its musical universe. While the new compositions retain a strong connection to tradition, they also open up new dynamic and experimental directions.

The Cretan lute, drums, bass guitar, modal pathways, heavy electric sounds and acoustic textures coexist organically in compositions inspired by the history, literature and cultural routes of the Mediterranean.

Vaggelis Gettos is an interdisciplinary artist, lawyer and musician who is also active in poetry, theatre, children’s literature, graphic novels, media, and experimental cinema, always with a focus on cultural heritage and social justice. His artistic vision centres on storytelling and historical reflection.

Idaeon Project consists of: Vaggelis Gettos, Cretan lute and vocals, Alexis Yiangoulis, bass guitar, and Hugo Enrique Olivos, drums.
