Combining acoustic instruments flutes, piccolo and trombone with electronic sound, Bending Time explores the concept of time – not as a linear sequence of events, but as a fluid continuum that stretches, slows down, accelerates, folds back on itself, and dissolves the boundaries between past, present and future – much like Nicosia itself, a city of multiple histories, narratives and identities in constant transformation.

As the music unfolds, visual forms are generated in real time. Breaths, keyboard noises, electronic processing and musical gestures are translated into an ever-changing visual landscape, where sound and image are created together and continuously interact. Music and visuals, notes and forms, pixels and colours, technology and tradition, the city and the wider world coexist in a multisensory, immersive experience that invites audiences on a journey of reflection and discovery.

The duo Copper Curios consists of Demetris Yiasemides and Eva Stavrou. Rooted in their classical training and united by a shared passion for experimentation, they create a distinctive sonic world where contemporary classical music meets ambient electronica, free improvisation and the sonic memories of the Eastern Mediterranean. Flutes, trombone, electronics and processed natural sounds coexist within an ever-evolving soundscape, where melodies intertwine with drones, hypnotic harmonies and delicate rhythmic textures.

The evening also features visual artist Avgi Stavrou, who creates live visuals in real time.
